Advaneo at the II Foro BAIDATA in Bilbao: From local data islands to connected Data Spaces

Around 300 participants from business, public administration, and research gathered at the Palacio Euskalduna for the II Foro BAIDATA. Representatives of the European Commission, and the governments of Spain, Germany, and the Basque Country, as well as initiatives such as IDSA and Gaia-X, examined the state of the European data economy – sending clear signals for greater collaboration and interoperability.

As a participant, Advaneo was represented on the closing panel: Jürgen Bretfeld joined experts from SOVITY, Swiss Smart Factory, and INDESIA to discuss practical ways to make the data economy scalable and secure. A key takeaway: data sovereignty, trust, and shared reference models are the cornerstones of functioning Data Spaces; the path toward them begins locally and grows step by step into European ecosystems.

BAIDATA places a clear focus on Europe, thereby strengthening the foundation for a common market of trustworthy Data Spaces. Advaneo contributes hands-on experience, tools, and project expertise – enabling data to be used securely and opening the door to new, data-driven business models.
