Significance of the GDDS

The Green Deal Dataspace is designed as an open, cross-sector data space that provides companies, research institutions, and organizations with a trusted basis for exchanging data on sustainability, circular economy, and climate protection. It creates an infrastructure that enables data to be shared sovereignly, interoperably, and securely – in line with the goals of the European Green Deal.
With the establishment of the association, the GDDS is placed on an institutional footing. This is an important step in turning pilot projects into a robust, growing ecosystem where the value of data is distributed fairly and innovations for sustainability can scale.

Advaneo’s role

As Chairman, Advaneo assumes a leading role in the strategic orientation and further development of the association. With many years of experience in data spaces, sovereign data exchange, and data economics, Advaneo brings practical expertise to establish the GDDS as a central European data space for the Green Deal.
