Participation in the National Conference on Data Trustee Models 2025 – ScaleTrust

“Data trust models should be conceived as cornerstones of value creation,” emphasized Dr. Marcus Pleyer (State Secretary, BMF) at the opening of the DTM Networking Conference “Data Sharing for Digital Innovation – National Conference on Data Trust Models 2025,” organized by the Data Trust Competence Network (DaTNet). As the consortium lead of the ScaleTrust project, we attended the sessions on Data Spaces, AI, and Sovereignty and took away valuable insights.

The focus was on practical approaches to scaling data trusteeship reliably in legal, technical, and organizational terms. This is exactly where ScaleTrust comes in: we develop scalable, trustworthy mechanisms for compliant data sharing, as the basis for sovereign data ecosystems, high-performance AI applications, and concrete initiatives such as the Green Deal Dataspace.

Our takeaway: the strong community networking and clear best practices are providing momentum for the broad adoption of data trusteeship – fairly and in the spirit of European sovereignty – and they reaffirm ScaleTrust’s trajectory.
