Retrospective: Online event “Managing supply chains more resiliently with AI”

On March 5, 2025, the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Smarte Kreisläufe invited participants to the online event “Managing supply chains more resiliently with AI.” Numerous attendees took the opportunity to learn about current developments in the use of artificial intelligence in supply chains.

As a speaker, Jürgen Bretfeld, Managing Director of Advaneo GmbH and consortium leader of the PAIRS project, presented the results of the developed Supply Chain Radar. This open, service-oriented data infrastructure tool shows how AI can be used to forecast the impacts of crises, such as natural disasters or disruptions in supply chains, at an early stage.

A special focus was on linking global news sources with real-time data from one’s own supply chain. In this way, companies can recognize risks more quickly, assess them, and take targeted countermeasures. The presentation was complemented by practical examples and an outlook on further development of the Supply Chain Radar in collaboration with application partners.

The event was part of the six-part series “Digitalized Supply Chains for Circular Economy” and was aimed at companies seeking to make their supply chains more resilient and future-proof through the use of artificial intelligence.
