How smart products renew logistics

Intelligent networking leads to greater precision throughout the entire supply chain. Radio-controlled scanners can be used to automatically record deliveries of goods and enable a delivery to be tracked even across several stations. When external data is included, it is not only possible to monitor the route with regard to weather and traffic conditions, but also to make changes to the delivery schedule in order to ensure the fastest and most punctual delivery possible.

Another quantum leap can be achieved with the standardization of corresponding data and service architectures. To achieve this, however, “rooms must be opened” in order to make the advantages of networking accessible to as many participants as possible. In practice, this often fails due to questions of data security, data protection and governance.

Solutions are provided by the reference architecture of the International Data Space Association (IDS). It is based on the principle of federal, i.e. distributed systems. The Advaneo data marketplace, for example, offers appropriate tools to meet the requirements of security and protection. Advaneo also offers free access to a wide range of open data that can be catalogued and structured for quick and easy access.
