Whether Facebook, Google or Twitter, they all receive millions of data around the clock, which we leave to the Data Kraken free of charge. Their benefits lead to a continuous improvement of the algorithms with which their offers can be tailored specifically to the respective users of the services. Each “data provider” thus contributes to the growth and profitability of the big data companies, which are becoming the data barons of modern times. Whether this is voluntary or involuntary is irrelevant.
Not to mention data transparency.
Although data protection and data security have been further developed in Europe, companies in particular have justified reservations about the availability of their own data beyond the company. These are restrictions that not only hinder the development of new business models or innovations, but can also bring with them a strong competitive disadvantage. Nevertheless, there are now possibilities to answer the questions of data sovereignty and data security satisfactorily.
The system reference architecture provided by the International Data Spaces Association (IDS) allows the exchange, purchase or sale of data in which the respective data provider retains full governance. A federal system, e.g. in a data marketplace or in closed user groups, guarantees data protection and security. As long as nothing else is ordered, it remains the same: My data remains my data!
